Copper World, Inc. - Air Permit

This public comment period is for the proposed Copper World Project Air Permit. This permit authorizes the construction and operation of the Copper World Project, a new open-pit copper mining and ore processing facility to be located at 9025 E Santa Rita Rd in Sahuarita, Pima County, Arizona. An air permit is required for any facility that has potential to emit air pollutants in excess of the permitting exemption thresholds. As a new facility subject to the Arizona Minor New Source Review program, Copper World, Inc. was required to demonstrate that the operation of the Copper World Project would not interfere with attainment of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards in publicly accessible areas through air dispersion modeling.
